Each year at our Annual
"Fishing for the Cure" tournament
we have a breast cancer survivor
speak at the Captain's Meeting.
This year we were
honored to have Sharon Hox
share her story of survival.
Sharon told the anglers about a
website the helps women gain
access to mammograms:
please share your support....
it is at no cost to you!
www.thebreastcancersite.com

Our tournament proceeds
are donated to local
breast cancer charities.

CLA - 2009 Christmas Party

We had plenty of oysters and all the fixin's   Betty and Alicia
Melissa, Kelly and Drea Christel and her hubby

During the October 2009 meeting, one of our members,
Kelly Scarborough shared with the group a story about a
dear friend of hers who is struggling with Breast Cancer.
After listening to Kelly's story the members glady took up
a collection and Kellie Dolloff and Mona Krissman-King
prepared a bag of goodies for Kelly's "other Mother", Dot.

Ladies - Thanks for your kindness and generosity

A note from Kelly:

My mother and Dot
have been best friends
for 47 years.
They are more like
sisters than best friends.
I can't imagine one
without the other.
I have been very blessed
to have had such great
Mothers to raise me.
They have given me the
best of both of them.
Dot has always been
my "other Mother".
She taught me strength,
courage and how
to be independent.

She is an amazing woman
and my love for her is as strong as
the love that I have for my Mother.

Carolina Lady Anglers
vs
Lowcountry Anglers

Saturday - Sept. 26, 2009

*********************
Well Ladies....hate to report
that we got skunked....
Their were
2 CLA and 5 LCA
participants

Both Kelly Scarbrough
and Janell Nettles fished
but didn't have any
legal fish to weigh.

We had an issue
with the scales,
so we measured
the fish by length.

Jim McNay's biggest fish were
16 1/2 " Trout,
16 1/2 " Flounder,
18" Sheepshead
Skip Milligan had a 16" Trout
Keith Beam had a
16" Sheepshead
Jason Walters had a
15" Sheepshead

*********************
Ladies.....
We have our work cut
out for us next time !!!

Thanks to all that participated!
